As graduation season approaches, high school and college years come to an end, and the end of the school years begin to wrap up I cannot tell you how many times I have seen people talk about, post, write out Jeremiah 29:11.

“For I know what I have planned for you,” says the LORD. “I have plans to prosper you, not to harm you. I have plans to give you a future filled with hope.”

Jeremiah 29:11

I cannot tell you how true that is. The LORD does have plans to prosper us, not to harm us, plans for our future that is filled with hope. The Lord wants us to prosper and He wants our futures to be filled with hope, I mean he CREATED our futures.

But what I see most of the time is that people leave out the most important part. Verses 12 through 14.

“When you call out to me and come to me in prayer, I will hear your prayers. When you seek me in prayer and worship, you will find me available to you, If you seek me with all your heart and soul, I will make my self available to you,” says the LORD.

I think these verses are so important. He is telling us in order to have a prosperous future we have to ASK, we have to PRAY, we have to WORSHIP.

In all of our prosperity, all of our hope filled future we cannot forget who gave it to us. We must pray and worship him.

Do not forget to thank the One who gives you that amazing job after graduation or that good grade on your final. Do not forget to serve the Lord in all that you do because that’s the only real way that you will become “prosperous” and have a “future filled with hope.”

So, please, when you post your Jeremiah 29:11 verse on your Facebook, Twitter, graduate cap, Instagram pic keep in mind the verses that follow and to Who your worship, prayer, and thanksgiving needs to go to.
