Short Cut: My name is Ashton, that's me over to the right. I'm a girl that has a passion for taking the Gospel to all the nations and I firmly believe in Matthew 28:19 when Jesus said to His followers "go and make disciples." THe call is to make disciples and that is the call I am committed to. That is what I have been called to do, this is the honest recordings of my journey so far.

   WHO AM I

The Long Way Around: I was born into a family of hunters and sweet tea drinkers in Gainesville, Florida. As a kid I spent most of my time in a dugout, as a travel softball player, or at a ball field watching my brother. We were never much of a church going family, until we watched the movie Supersize Me and my dad, a believer, found out that his kids didn't know Jesus.

That's where it all began. Not long after that church was the only place we were known to be. My mom, brother and I had become believers; I was called into full time missions in high school, Gavin (my brother) had developed his music skills immensely and was playing churchwide, and my parents were pouring their hearts into students as Sunday School teachers (all of us are pictured to the right).

After graduating high school, I began my studies at Santa Fe College in Health Sciences, which is now changed to Nursing. Soon I jumped right into an internship within the Youth Ministry at Westside Baptist Church, under Asa Walker. I was the intern to Girls and Logistics and I am so thankful to have been apart of a team that is so passionate about reaching the students of Gainesville. Through that internship I learned a lot about myself and the administrative skills that the Lord has given me. I thrive in front of an Excel spreadsheet or a pile of papers that need to be organized. After a year and a half, I stepped away from the internship at Westside to deeply explore the call that God has placed on my life. I flew half way around the world and spent 4 months in Lisbon, Portugal with the International Mission Board serving the Lord through on-campus evangelism, the starting of Bible discovery groups, and a church plant. When I returned, I dove deeper into the BCM at the University of Florida. I got involved quickly by assisting with a Freshmen Bible Study, planning events, and discipling girls one-on-one. That is where you will find me today, occasionally heading overseas. I plan to use my Nursing degree to serve the Lord long term on the international missions field.

That's pretty much it so far, stay tuned.
